FAQ

WHAT IS MICROBLADING?

Microblading is a semi-permanent tattoo in the brow that is applied by hand . Safe, plant based pigments are deposited into the very outer layer of skin with very small, individual strokes that perfectly mimic eyebrow hair. Microblading is so super-fine that it is also referred to as brow embroidery, 3D eyebrows, microstroking and micropigmentation among other terms.

WHAT DOES THE MICROBLADING PROCESS ENTAIL?

First we will map the brows according to your ideal shape. Then, we will take 15 minutes to numb the brow area. Next the procedure is done using a hand tool, with a prepackaged, sterile, single use “blade” made up of a grouping of needles that are 3x smaller than the needles that would be used in a tattoo machine. The pigment is then deposited into outermost layer of skin, or the epidermis. Think paper-cuts!

Your first appointment will take approximately 2.5 hours, as plenty of time will be taken to assure that we have created the shape you desire before the procedure is performed. Your second appointment (6 week touch up) will be between 1.5-2 hours.

HOW LONG DOES MICROBLADING LAST?

The high-quality pigment used in this procedure is semi-permanent, so effects of the procedure typically lasts up to 12 months or longer. Because of the unique qualities of each individual’s skin and lifestyles, we are unable to guarantee how long your results will last. You will likely need a touchup within 6-24 months.

WHY DO I NEED A PERFECTING SESSION 6 WEEKS AFTER MY FIRST SESSION?

The 6 week perfecting session is required to darken any strokes that may have completely faded, and even out any small imperfections that can come about as result of the healing process.

WHAT IS THE RECOVERY TIME?

Throughout the 2 week healing process, your brows will slowly fade to a softer, more natural shade. Please refrain from having microblading done before going on a beach vacation or a camping trip.

WILL MY BROWS FADE?

Yes. Your brows will fade approximately 30-40%. The pigments used in the service are natural, plant based pigments, they are semi-permanent. But, unlike tattoo ink, they will fade true to color. As your brows fade, they will look soft and natural. Factors such as sun exposure and certain skincare products and services can also have an effect on the fading process.
